She got lips like strawberry wine Much sweeter than fruit on the vine She got eyes like the deep blue sea but the best part of her is how she’s makin’ a man outta me She got legs that are just my style They go on and on for a country mile Her love makin pits me down on my knees but the best part of her is how she’s makin’ a man outta me No more bitchin’, no more hate No more worryin’ and staying’ up late I took this life and I turned it around There ain’t no luckier man in this whole town She got a voice that soothes my soul Just like listenin to rock’n’roll She got me shakin’ like a leaf on a tree but the best part of her is how she’s makin’ a man outta me No more tears, no more complaining I even smile when it’s windy and raining I took this life and I turned it around There ain’t no luckier man in this whole town She got lips like strawberry wine Much sweeter than fruit on the vine She got eyes like the deep blue sea but the best part of her is how she’s makin’ a man outta me

Whenever I’m lonely, whenever I’m blue I think about you – you – you And every morning that breaks on through I think about you – you – you You’re always with me Even when you’re not In every emotion and every single thought, it’s true I think about you Whenever my spirit starts to head on down I think about you – you – you And every time, a smile turns to a frown I think about you – you – you I’m never alone Even when I am In all of my daydreams And all of the things that I plan, well it’s true I think about you All I know is what I see All I see is you an me

She takes me out to the finest restaurant When the meal is done she says ‘I know what you want’ Reaches across the table and whispers in my ear ‘This place is pretty nice, but baby let’s get outta here’ CHORUS: She’s bad She’s so very very bad My baby’s bad bad bad – and that’s good She takes me to a night club to have a drink or two And when the glass is empty, she tells me what to do Smiles a perfect smile, while she rubs against my leg Blows a kiss and walks away, she likes to make me beg CHORUS: Well I’m learnin’ - she’s got no shame Yeah, she’s burnin’ - burnin’ like a flame Wheels are turnin’ - at a high rate of speed She grabs the stick shift - that’s just what I need We get all dressed for the concert tonight I’m feein’ pretty loose because her dress is so tight And when the show begins, she turns and looks me in the eyes I’ve seen that look before, it says, ’I’ve got a surprise’ CHORUS:

She likes the same things that I like And we talk about ‘em all the time I never knew anyone like her And you know it really blows my mind Automatic sheer perfection It doesn’t much matter what The things we share you can’t find anywhere And you know it just can’t be bought She’s the answer to every song I ever sang She’s a sweet thang She wants the same things that I want That’s the truth, baby, ain’t no lie We found a new way to live the life And the old rules don’t apply It doesn’t much matter how We go about our day The things we do it’s too good to be true Ain’t nothin’ more to say She’s a force that’s stronger than that ol’ Big Bang She’s a sweet thang Wake up in the mornin’ Go to sleep at night Every minute in between Sure feels all right, all right, all right…. I fell in love with her the moment the church bells rang She’s a sweet thang
5.
She like to love me fast But she love to love me slow She like to love me fast But she love to love me slow People, you don’t know the half of it And that’s the half you’ll never know She take me for a ride I follow her wherever she goes She take me for a ride I follow her wherever she goes People, you don’t know the half of it And that’s the half you’ll never know She messes with my head Makes her way down to my toes She messes with my head Makes her way down to my toes People, you don’t know the half of it And that’s the half you’ll never know She make the hound dog howl She make my rooster crow She make the hound dog howl She make my rooster crow People, you don’t know the half of it And that’s the half you’ll never know She like to love me fast But she love to love me slow She like to love me fast But she love to love me slow People, you don’t know the half of it And that’s the half you’ll never know

Skies were grey Could not hear the music play Tears would fall Couldn’t give it my all And then you walked in You walked into my life Thoughts were dark Wasn’t hitting the mark My heart was weak I was well past my peak And then you walked in You walked into my life So good, so fine I bless the day that you became mine So warm, so sweet Now I’m back, right back on my feet The air was cold My tent began to fold The days were long All my hope was gone And then you walked in You walked into my life

Katrina 04:46
Surrounded, Surrounded Surrounded by the water Cryin, tryin’ to make sense of it all The buses are drivin’ To the Louisiana border You know when I get there I’ll try to give you a call CHORUS: Katrina, Katrina You couldn’t a been any meaner Stealing my future Wash away my home Your fury was formin’ Arrived without a warnin’ Took over my city And just like that, you’re gone Auntie Luisa, she doesn’t have a visa No credit won’t get it Ain’t nothin’ she can do Can’t find her babies, no ifs, buts or maybes Somewhere, they’re out there In the Blue Bayou CHORUS: We’re standin’ on the rooftops Hide between the raindrops Waitin’ and prayin’ for a helicopter ride The bodies are floatin’ The rescuers are boatin’ Ain’t nothin’ but water, looking far and wide The ocean was heavy, pounding on the levee Water was risin’, past the second floor People were tryin’, but mostly they were cryin’ Feelin’ so helpless, can’t do anything more CHORUS:
9.
Nobody’s perfect - God, how true Nobody nails everything they do Everyone's human - We all make mistakes Nobody’s perfect, but baby, I've got what it takes Nobody’s perfect - That’s a fact No one has found the perfect way to act Everyone’s human - Mess up from time to time Nobody’s perfect, but baby, I think I'm fine So why do you cry when you catch me in those little white lies? And why do you roam when you know that my heart is your home? Nobody’s perfect - Not even a King Even a King can’t fix everything Everyone’s human - but I gotta say Nobody’s perfect, but baby, I think I'm OK

Equality - it should be easy Equality - it should be easy Can’t judge a book - by its cover Can’t love one - without loving the other Just because someone wears a turban Don’t mean he can’t live like a suburban What we all want - is really the same All the same rules - in a different game Just because someone’s skin is brown Don’t mean that they can’t live on the same side of town It’s obvious to me Love sets you free Why can’t there be… Equality - it should be easy Equality - it should be easy Your beliefs are different - well,, so are mine So many cultures - of a different kind Just because somebody kneels to pray Don’t change what their heart really wants to say You can’t see the forest - without the trees We all stand tall - then fall to our knees Just because someone’s God is dead Don’t mean you can’t live with what’s left in his head It’s obvious to me Everyone can see Why cant there be….. Equality………

ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE OF A NEW JIM PERRY CD!!!!!
Release date, MAY 5th.
Called “MEANWHILE…..I’M STILL THINKIN”, it is the fruit of many hours of recording with some of the finest singers and musicians you could ever dream of assembling for one project.
The music is a combination of blues and rock’n’roll, all with an R&B feel. Guest artists include Johnny Blue Horn, Lisa Marie, Myanna, and many more! Jim was even able to bring in the legendary Babe Pino to belt out some inspiring blues harmonica!
All tracks were written by Jim. Songs include the Rolling Stones inspired Makin a Man Outta Me, a blues burner, The Half You’ll Never Know, and the night club torch ballad, Nobody’s Perfect. After visiting New Orleans, Jim was inspired to write the inspirational Katrina. The CD ends with Equality (should be easy), Jim’s cry for peace in a crazy world, featuring great soul singer Bruce Reed taking over the lead vocal.
